McCutcheon Elementary School was awarded a 5-year Community Schools Initiative grant by Chicago Public Schools in August 2018. Loyola University Chicago was named the lead agency on the initiative and is working to support programming efforts at McCutcheon before and after school. We currently are providing more than 20 programs for K-8 students at McCutcheon facilitated by teachers, staff, community partner organizations, and Loyola students and faculty.

We are currently in our seventh week of programming – and it has been amazing! The teachers love seeing and interacting with McCutcheon students in a more casual environment, and the students are loving all of the programs. They come in each day so excited and with so much energy! We are looking forward to improving on our current programs and starting our programs for parents and families in the spring.

We are so excited to see where this initiative will take us! If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to run a program, contact us below!
