SLCEC Civic Education Professional Development Series 2018: Best Practices in Civic Education Pedagogy
A three-part series for faculty who are preparing teacher candidates and/or faculty interested in civic engagement strategies and practices.
The State of Illinois now requires that all high school students complete a semester-long course in civics that includes the following pedagogies:
New teachers will need to be well-versed in these practices to facilitate civic learning experiences. Join colleagues from universities across the city as we engage these pedagogical practices and explore/share our own work/plans in this emerging field.
